Practice Areas
Jean Harrington, a partner in the firm, concentrates her practice in the areas of corporate and securities, commercial lending, private equity financing and fund formation, and real estate law. Jean is engaged in a diverse business and corporate practice serving various industries, including manufacturing, finance and investment, technology, construction and real estate. She represents management teams, individual investors, and corporate buyers and sellers in acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and other commercial transactions.

Work for Clients
Jean has assisted clients in the formation of start-up businesses, the raising of debt and equity capital, the negotiation of employment agreements, and the purchase and sale of properties.

She has been involved in both public and private securities offerings including reporting and disclosure requirements of publicly traded companies. She frequently guides federal and state registered investment advisors in complex issues of law and finance. Jean has served as borrower's counsel in complex lending transactions as well as lender's counsel to many of the large financial institutions in the Northeast.

Professional Activities
Jean is active as a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association where she is a frequent speaker on the subject of corporations for new attorneys. She is also a member of the American Bar Association and its committees on taxation, business and real property. She is a member of the ABA 's Forum on the Construction Industry, and is a state liaison to the Committee on Corporate Laws of the ABA Business Law Section. She is a member of the Board of Directors for Brown University's WBRU.

Jean was recognized by Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
