Her practice focuses on the development, protection and enforcement of intellectual property, including patent, trademark and copyright litigation, domain name dispute resolution, as well as intellectual property and technology licensing. She also manages domestic and international trademark portfolios for clients in a variety of fields, including finance, publishing, software and consumer products.
Education
Ms. Beals holds a Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, in Computer Science from Franklin Pierce College, a law degree from Roger Williams University School of Law, and a Master of Intellectual Property Law degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center. In law school, she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Board and received the award for Best Oral Advocate from the justices of the Rhode Island Supreme Court. She also worked in the Office of General Counsel for Raytheon Company. Ms. Beals’ technical background is in software engineering and implementation.

Ms. Beals co-authored the cover article for the September 2006 issue of Patent World magazine: "Risky Business: The Boom in U.S. Insurance Patents."
Bar Admissions and Professional Associations
Ms. Beals is admitted to practice in Connecticut. She is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the International Trademark Association. Ms. Beals has served as a member of the Board of Trustees and Advisory Council of the Hope Funds for Cancer Research based in Newport, Rhode Island.
