Practice Areas
Mr. Guida represents institutional lenders and borrowers in matters involving the structuring, documentation, enforcement and workout of various credit facilities, including real estate development and construction loans, asset-based loans, project financings, precious metals consignments, letters of credit and other international trade finance facilities. He frequently handles syndicated credit facilities and commercial lending form documents. Mr. Guida also represents major real estate developers in their project development, permitting, borrowing and leasing transactions.

Work for Clients
Mr. Guida has been engaged in private practice providing legal services to institutional banking clients throughout New England for more than two decades. He previously served as in-house counsel for Society National Bank and Society Corporation in Cleveland (now known as KeyCorp.) and BankBoston Corporation (succeeded by Sovereign Bank, Fleet National Bank and Bank of America, N.A.) in Providence, where he provided counsel to the corporate lending, real estate lending, asset-based lending, international lending, precious metals, loan administration and asset liability management divisions.

Mr. Guida has authored articles on "Secured Loans to Health Care Providers" and "Secured Financing of Government Contractors" appearing in the Review of Banking and Financial Services published by Standard & Poor’s.

Education
Mr. Guida is a graduate of Union College, cum laude, and Case Western Reserve where he was the Editor of the Case Western Reserve Law Review. He is admitted to practice law in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Ohio.

Professional Activities
Mr. Guida received the Martindale Hubbell rating AV, the highest rating given to attorneys. He is a Fellow of the Rhode Island Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Rhode Island Bar Association. In 2008, he was included in New England Super Lawyers, and appointed to the Rhode Island State Advisory committee on Civil Rights.

Mr. Guida has a long history of involvement in leading professional development activities, most notably as the chair and principal speaker for both the Rhode Island Bar Association annual program on commercial and real estate lending and the American Law Institution-American Bar Association course of study on commercial lending and banking law.

He has also been very active in numerous civic volunteer pursuits, particularly in the area of education, where he serves as vice-chair of the Rhode Island Board of Regents for Elementary and Secondary Education and chair of the Barrington School Committee. He is the former president of the Rhode Island Association of School Committees.
