Matthew Phillips joined the firm in May of 2018 as an attorney in the Business Law, Real Estate and M&A practices. He has been involved in helping clients as part of the M&A team in a variety of multi-million dollar deals.  He also negotiates and executes buy-sell agreements for commercial real estate  for hotels, office buildings, residential apartment buildings and beyond.

Previously, he worked as a Senior Privacy and Compliance Auditor for Lifespan where he focused mitigating risk and meeting regulatory requirements for the comprehensive healthcare system. Prior to Lifespan, Matt was hired as Special Counsel by Boston Financial Data Services, where he was part of the legal team working on a comprehensive document review involving Anti-Money-Laundering and Know-Your-Customer compliance for the federally regulated institution.

Matt was a Sergeant in the United States Army, serving as a paratrooper for four and half years. He also was deployed to Afghanistan in Operation Enduring Freedom 2010.

Matt is currently active in the community as a member of the young professionals committee of the RI Society of CPAs and a member of the Deal Hunters (young professionals) Committee of the Association of Corporate Growth (ACG) in Boston.

Previously, Matt was a volunteer with Educate Tomorrow, a Florida-based non-profit committed to helping foster children go to college and support them into early adulthood.
