RI’s Healthy and Safe Families and Workplaces Act – May 10th Briefing

RI’s Healthy and Safe Families and Workplaces Act – May 10th Briefing

Rhode Island’s Healthy and Safe Families and Workplaces Act, which provides for paid sick and safe leave time for most employees, is set to take effect on July 1st.

The Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training has issued proposed guidelines for the implementation and enforcement of the new law, and it plans to have the final regulations issued soon.

To help employers better understand their obligations, we joined forces with the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training and the Employers Association of the Northeast to discuss the new law, the proposed regulations, and the impact on Rhode Island employers.

Attorneys from Duffy & Sweeney  joined Matthew Weldon from the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, and Mark Adams from the Employers Association of the NorthEast (EANE) to review the law and state regulations. Questions?
