D&S Attorneys Lead Programs on Intellectual Property and Employment Law at RIBA Annual Meeting

Six D&S attorneys led two substantive presentations at this year’s Annual Meeting of the Rhode Island Bar Association with programs.

Cutting Edge Topics in Intellectual Property Law”  focused on current intellectual property issues affecting attorneys’ clients and practice including: recent legislation designed  to combat the rise of patent troll litigation; issues relating to the availability of generic top-level domain names; and infringement issues arising from 3-D printing technology.

Employment Law Nightmare: The Intersection of ADA and FMLA” reviewed the difficult challenges for mid-size employers in balancing requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Rhode Island Parental and Family Medical Leave Act, and the Rhode Island Temporary Caregivers Insurance Law.
